Ashley attended one of the local schools in which she danced, played soccer as well as a part of the drama club. In 2018, she decided not to attend university and instead concentrate on her acting career. In 2011 Ashley was selected to voice Jessica Finch in the family comedy Judy Moody and the Not Bummer Summer and gained recognition in 2012 after being the role was given to her voice and raccoons in the popular animated comedy Ernest & Celestine that starred Forest Whitaker Lambert Wilson and Pauline Brunner and follows the relationship between Ernest the bear and Celestine the mouse. The film was nominated for awards and was awarded 29 awards which included an Oscar being among them.
